The festival began with an extraordinary concert in Parco Sempione: it was performed for the very first time "Le Piano Africain", an original composition by Ludovico Einaudi who performed on a three-story vertical stage together with eleven other musicians with 6 pianos, 2 marimbas and 4 balafones.
As past editions, the museum centre GAM/PAC was the heart of the festival hosting some of the main events together with museums, parks, train stations, markets and other typical places of Milanese everyday life, transformed, for two days, in unusual concert halls. More than 100 different locations hosted concerts of all genres, where both amateurs and established musicians of international clout -such as Raphael Gualazzi, Ormar Sosa, Paolo Jannacci, Renato Sellani, Yaron Herman- performed. Thanks to Piano City Milano's imagination and determination to provide an unique experience our pianos played on public trams, ferry boats, bicycles and on 100 metros tall towers (Torre Branca).
