Piano City was one of the most anticipated cultural events of Spring 2012 in Milan: a three day event celebrating music, with over 100 piano concerts throughout the city, from house performances to special events. Piano City was thought to involve a wide and a diverse public; a manifestation capable of offering, in just one weekend, an unconventional way to experience and hear music, rediscovering the city and sharing culture.
Piano City Milano came to Italy after the success of the event in Berlin founded by Andrea Kern. Adjusting to suit the Milanese lifestyle there were: house concerts held in the private homes (exclusively opened to the public); performances held in squares, theatres and gardens of the city; and special events with music stars, professional musicians, students, amateurs and also highly renowned Italian and international pianists.
From the 11th to the 13th of May, 2012 in Milan, notes echoed throughout the city.
