White Night in Rome – Massimo Silenzio

In occasion of the eve of White Night, “ Waiting for the White Night”, the Circo Massimo fires-up with Massimo Silenzio the luminous installation by Giancarlo Neri. The piece was composed of 10,000 luminous flickering spheres scattered throughout the above-ground interior of the Roman archaeological site, slowly changing colour and fading.

The spectacular installation remained suspended between the past and future and gave way to the grand party of the White Night 2007.

The piece was inaugurated with the presence of Mayor Walter Veltroni and remained visible for five consecutive nights.

Massimo Silenzio was curated by Achille Bonito Oliva – Incontri Internazionali d´Arte – a project created thanks to ENEL and produced by Zétema Progetto Cultura in collaboration with h+.
