Bookcity Milano 2016

The fifth edition of Bookcity Milano, from the 17th to the 20th of November 2016, reached the record for audience achievement: over 160.000 people were charmed by reading in many different formats. Throughout four days the whole city of Milan opened its doors to host more than 1.000 events dealing with books and literature, of any kind of genre and time, reaffirming itself as the capital of reading and publishing.

The Castello Sforzesco and BASE Milano/Mudec were respectively the heart and one of the centres of the festival. Those locations, very different one another yet so unique and surprising, hosted numerous Bookcity Milano’s highlights, including many lectures of internationally-known writers.

For this edition, h+ was responsible for the organisation and production of all events in Castello Sforzesco and BASE Milano. For the 2016 edition h+ curated the production and the general organization of “Voci della Città”, an all-night long marathon of reading and music, ideated by Daniele Abbado, that lasted 16 hours: from 6 p.m. on Saturday up to midday on Sunday.
