Bookcity Milano 2017
The sixth edition of Book City Milano took place from the 16th to the 19th of November 2017 confirming the great success of the public involved in over 1,000 events spread throughout the city of Milan.
The heart of the event was again the Castello Sforzesco that, for three days, has become the paradise of those who love books through activities, meetings and debates with important writers and authors. One of the novelty of this edition were the readings in the houses. With Book City in the Houses, the private spaces of the Milanese opened to the public hosting readings related to the American literature. After the great success achieved in 2016, the second edition of LE VOCI DELLA CITTÀ was presented at the Visconti Pavilion, a one-night long marathon. A co-production between Book City and Teatro alla Scala, curated by Daniele Abbado and produced by h+. A reading marathon on the theme of Lutheran Letters by Pier Paolo Pasolini, alternated with readings, acts and musical interventions developing the many suggestions contained in the proposed texts. Bookcity has also returned to BASE Milano with numerous events throughout the weekend with a focus on the artistic translations of the book: from the graphic novel to film transpositions, from television scripts to art books.
h+ took care of the production of the events at the Castello Sforzesco, the organization and production of the events at BASE Milano, the coordination, production and organization of "The Voices of the city" and of the readings in the private houses.
