STRINGS CITY
Florence | December 3rd 2016

The 3rd of December Florence became the City of Strings: for an entire day, museums and libraries, archives and historical palaces, churches and theatres presented themselves as unique stages for large and small musical events - all played with string instruments only, such as violin or even human voice. The programme featured many different music genres, from classical to more contemporary melodies, creatiing an “orchestra” of sounds and places that resonated through the city of Florence.

Strings City was an initiative of the Municipality of Florence and it was also the first time ever that the city's major institutions of musical education and production joined forces for a collective integrated project. The event was curated by Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with Conservatorio di Musica Luigi Cherubini, Opera di Firenze/Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Orchestra della Toscana.

All the events were free of charge
